The Oakland Unified School District is starting this month to move its headquarters to 1000 Broadway (11th & Broadway) in downtown Oakland. The district will be utilizing several floors of the building.
Among the offices that are moving to the new downtown site are: Accounts Payable, Benefits, Finance/Accounting, Human Resources, Internal Auditor and Labor Management and Employee Relations.
The district’s old headquarters at the Paul Robeson building on Second Avenue suffered severe water damage earlier this year and is not usable. Insurance will be used to pay the cost of leasing the temporary space while the old building is being repaired, according to the district.
Other district services are at scattered sites throughout the city. The Family, Schools, and Community Partnerships Department is now located at 746 Grand Ave. and can be reached at (510) 273-1500. At this location are the Student Assignment Center, Early Childhood Education and Transitional Students and Families.
To enroll new students call the Student Assignment Center at (510) 273-1600 or go online to www.ousd.k12.ca.us/enroll
The first day of school is Monday, Aug. 26.
